For years I developed my web sites in HTML and I only worked on my own web sites. Until I discovered Joomla!

I tried a few other content management systems but the had too many drawbacks for me to use them on client web sites, and even on my own.  For the past three years I've been using Joomla! almost exclusively on my own and client web sites - from basic three page sites to sites with more than 500 pages, from brochure web sites to online shopping web sites. 

And my reasoning is simple:

• The installation of the Joomla! CMS is easy and quick so that I can have the initial site up within a day (my record is 45 minutes from domain name registration to a live web site).
• With thousands of Joomla! templates available, many of them free, I can create virtually any look to suit my or my client's business, look and color scheme.  
• Virtually any type of business can be created with the thousands of components and modules available, again many of them free, from basic information web sites to membership and community web sites to online shopping sites to real estate sales and rental web sites to business directories.
• Joomla!'s regular updates ensure that your web sites are not only secure but remains fully functional with upgrades of PHP and mySQL.
• Not only does the official Joomla! site provide a very active support forum, most of the template, component and module developer web sites have their own support forums too. 
• The built-in Joomla!search engine optimisation tools help one achieve good search engine rankings, which can beimproved with additional components, modules and plug-ins. This helps you get the traffic from the search engines.
